Coconut oil - Not just for hair; use it in facials and Glow!!



I know this post is not connected to Yoga, Pranayama, etc in any way.

But, I love doing facials at home :) So, I thought of sharing some of my favorites which use Coconut oil as one of the main ingredients in the facial.

Note: Before applying any of these facial recipes to your face, it's always recommended to do a patch test to ensure you don't have an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients. If you have sensitive skin, you may want to consult with a dermatologist before trying these recipes.

Here are six facial recipes that include coconut oil along with other beneficial ingredients:

Try to use organic, cold-pressed Coconut oil for these recipes.


1. Coconut Oil and Brown Sugar Exfoliating Scrub

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil, warmed up

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Instructions:

  1. Mix the coconut oil and brown sugar to form a paste.

  2. Gently massage the mixture onto your face in circular motions for 2-3 minutes.

  3. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry.

Benefits:

  • Exfoliates dead skin cells

  • Moisturizes and softens the skin



2. Coconut Oil and Avocado Nourishing Mask


Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

  • 1/4 ripe avocado, mashed

Instructions:

  1. Mix the coconut oil and mashed avocado to form a smooth paste.

  2. Apply the mixture to your face, avoiding the eye area.

  3. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes.

  4. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry.

Benefits:

  • Nourishes and hydrates the skin

  • Rich in vitamins and antioxidants



3. Coconut Oil and Honey Moisturizing Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil, preferably warmed up

  • 1 tablespoon honey

Instructions:

  1. Mix the coconut oil and honey to form a paste.

  2. Apply the mixture to your face, avoiding the eye area.

  3. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes.

  4. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry.

Benefits:

  • Deeply moisturizes and nourishes the skin

  • Helps soothe and heal the skin




4. Coconut Oil and Turmeric Brightening Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

Instructions:

  1. Mix the coconut oil and turmeric powder to form a paste.

  2. Apply the mixture to your face, avoiding the eye area.

  3. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes.

  4. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry.

Benefits:

  • Brightens the complexion

  • Has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties

Note: Turmeric can stain the skin, so it's important to rinse thoroughly.


5. Coconut Oil and Aloe Vera Soothing Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

  • 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel

Instructions:

  1. Mix the coconut oil and aloe vera gel to form a paste.

  2. Apply the mixture to your face, avoiding the eye area.

  3. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes.

  4. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry.

Benefits:

  • Soothes and calms irritated skin

  • Provides hydration and promotes healing





6. Coconut Oil and Green Tea Anti-Aging Mask

Ingredients:


  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

  • 1 tablespoon brewed green tea, cooled

Instructions:

  1. Mix the coconut oil and cooled green tea together to form a paste.

  2. Apply the mixture to your face, avoiding the eye area.

  3. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes.

  4. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry.

Benefits:

  • Provides antioxidant protection

  • Helps reduce signs of aging and improves skin elasticity
