Reiki & Distance Reiki — FAQ

1. What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle, energy-based healing practice from Japan that helps balance the body’s natural life force energy (known as Ki or Prana). It supports physical, emotional, and mental well-being by encouraging deep relaxation and harmony within.

2. How does Reiki work?

A Reiki practitioner channels universal healing energy through their hands into the recipient’s energy field. This energy flows wherever it’s needed most — clearing blockages, calming the nervous system, and enhancing the body’s innate healing ability.

3. What happens during an in-person Reiki session?

You’ll lie down or sit comfortably, fully clothed. The practitioner gently places or hovers their hands over different energy centers (chakras). Most people experience warmth, tingling, or deep relaxation, and often leave feeling centered and peaceful.

4. What is Distance Reiki?

Distance Reiki (or remote Reiki) allows healing energy to be sent across time and space. It’s based on the principle that energy is not limited by physical distance — the same way thoughts or prayers travel instantly with intention.

5. Can you send Reiki to my mom / dad / friend / family members in India/ anywhere in the world? How does that work?

If you have booked a session to send Reiki to your mom in India or anywhere in the world, it's as effective as it would be in an in-person session. We book the session with the student.
- I will need to know the name/ one pic of the student / a brief description of the issues being experienced.
- For the duration of the 45 minutes, the student needs to be in a relaxed state. If it's India time (IST), she can be asleep; there is no need to interact with me during the session.
- I will be sending Reiki through intentional Meditation and symbols.
- We complete the session with a few moments of silence. I will be communicating with the person who has booked the session, once I complete it for feedback.

5. How does Distance Reiki actually work?

The practitioner uses focused intention, visualization, and Reiki symbols to connect energetically with the recipient. Once the connection is made, the healing energy flows just as it would in person. Recipients often report similar sensations — calmness, warmth, or emotional release.

.6. What does a Distance Reiki session feel like?

During a session, you might feel light vibrations, waves of peace, or emotional ease. Some people fall asleep, while others feel a gentle flow of warmth or tingling. Each session is unique — what’s consistent is the sense of deep rest and renewal afterward

.7. Do I need to believe in Reiki for it to work?

No — Reiki is not dependent on belief. It works whether or not you fully understand it. However, an open and relaxed state of mind helps you receive the healing energy more fully.

8. Can Reiki replace medical treatment?

Reiki is a complementary therapy, not a replacement for medical care. It supports healing alongside traditional medicine — often helping to reduce stress, promote better sleep, and enhance recovery

.9. How often should I receive Reiki?

It depends on your needs. Some people come for relaxation or stress relief once a month, while others schedule sessions weekly during times of emotional or physical healing. Regular sessions help maintain energetic balance and resilience.

10. What should I do after a Reiki session?

Drink water, rest, and notice how your body and emotions feel over the next day or two. Gentle self-care — like quiet time or a walk in nature — helps integrate the energy shifts and deepen the healing.
